DAY 1

SAIGON ARRIVAL – HALFDAY CITY TOUR (-/-/-)

Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City - the city used to be considered “the Pearl of the Far East” and start your tour with us! The dynamic Ho Chi Minh City is still called Saigon by the locals. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed at the airport and transferred to the hotel. Tour Ben Thanh Market, where you can buy from souvenirs to exceptional local food. Later, head to the Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral to learn about the history and exquisite architecture. Continue to the War Museum and the Reunification Palace and immerse in stories and collections of artifacts

DAY 02

SAIGON – CAN GIO MANGROVE – VAM SAT - SAIGON (B/-/-)

You’ll be transferred by car to boat at Saigon’s central pier. Boat will depart Saigon for the lush greenery and cultivated fields of the Mekong Delta. Visit Can Giuoc Market, a bustling local riverside market at the gateway to the Mekong Delta. The surrounding landscape will begin to change from lush riverside water palms to dusky mangrove swamps as you move from the Delta towards Can Gio Forest. Reach the Giant Bat Lagoon and have a leisurely rowboat tour before beginning a mangrove jungle walk. Continue to Vam Sat Eco Park, visit a crocodile reserve and feed them if you wish, see monkeys in their natural habitat, enjoy crab fishing and bird-watching.

Arrive back Saigon’s central pier and head to the hotel by car for dinner and a cozy overnight stay.

DAY 03

SAIGON – CU CHI – SAIGON (B/-/-)

Continue to Cu Chi to visit Cu Chi tunnels, where you have to become a true explorer when you crawl underground for an insight into life as the guerrillas during the Vietnam War. Return to Saigon, free at your own leisure or take an optional Vespa Tour (payable).

DAY 4

SAIGON – MEKONG – SAIGON (B/-/-)

Travel to the Mekong Delta to take a boat ride and float down the Mekong River when you arrive in My Tho. En route visit Coconut Candy Village or Cai Be Village to get a closer look of how their specialties are made. Row a sampan through the channels, you can learn more about the local life and sample freshly harvested tropical fruits.

Back to Saigon, over night in Saigon.

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Danang. Upon arrival at Danang, visit the Museum of Cham Sculpture, one of the first museums built in Vietnam by the French. Head to Hoian Ancient Town, recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. HOI AN – MY SON – HANOI – CYCLO & PUPPET SHOW (B/-/-)

Before departing for Dien Bien, have breakfast at the hotel. Arrive in Dien Bien and visit the Dien Bien Phu campaign headquarters, the cellar of General Vo Nguyen Giap, Hoang Van Thai. Pay a visit to the Dien Bien Phu Museum, named after the historical battle that resulted in a Vietnamese triumph. The most unique thing about the museum is that entering the museum, you seem to have the feeling of going into a deep tunnel with extremely solid concrete connections.

SAPA – FANSIPAN – HANOI (B/-/-)

After breakfast, leave Ninh Binh to drive to the coastal port of Halong. The journey takes four hours with a break to recharge energy. Halong is recognized as a Natural World Heritage by UNESCO and has about 2,000 islands and jungle-clad limestone pillars. Upon arrival, you will check in a private overnight boat. Visit caverns, swim, and watch the sunset on Halong Bay.

What types of cash and denominations are used when traveling in Vietnam?

The official currency in Vietnam is the Vietnam Dong, symbolised by ₫ or VND. If you’re confused by all the zeros, mentally remove three zeros to get a simpler number.
