The official currency in Vietnam is the Vietnam Dong, symbolised by ₫ or VND. Vietnamese notes are a mix of small paper bills (no coins are used), and larger polymer bills, in values from 10,000 VND to 500,000 VND. If you’re confused by all the zeros, mentally remove three zeros to get a simpler number. To quickly convert from VND to USD, just remove three zeros and divide by 24.Visitors to Vietnam can bring with them unlimited amounts of foreign currency, objects made of gold, silver, precious metals and gemstones or plated with silver or gold, but these must be declared in detail on their customs forms
US dollar is a widely accepted currency in Vietnam and most goods and services can be paid for in Dongs or Dollars. It is good to carry a combination of both at all times. It is also preferable if the dollar bills are in good condition as many businesses may refuse to accept worn out notes.
While cash is used for small purchases and street vendors in Vietnam, most establishments accept payments from major credit card providers such as Visa. Hotels, tour operators, boutiques, restaurants, grocery stores, and spas all generally accept international debit and credit cards. Conversion rates and swiping fees will be set by your card provider. With few exceptions, your larger travel expenses in Vietnam can be covered by card, on the spot or online in advance, reducing the need to carry and convert large sums of cash on the road

Our trip to Hanoi and Sa Pa with Asia Mystika was superb! Gracy organized a fantastic 9-day itinerary that made our holiday truly special. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, enhancing our experience with their insights and assistance. The food recommendations were spot-on, and the drivers were both efficient and accommodating. The hotels—May de Ville in Hanoi, Pistachio Hotel, and Topas Ecolodge in Sa Pa—were excellent, offering delicious breakfast options. Asia Mystika’s team, especially Gracy, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. I wholeheartedly recommend them for a memorable travel experience.
I recently visited the Rong May Glass Bridge in Sapa, Vietnam, and it was an unforgettable experience. The bridge offers breathtaking views from above, and walking on the glass floor adds an exhilarating thrill. The fog that often envelops the area adds a mystical, surreal vibe, making the experience even more unique. The bridge itself is an architectural marvel and offers panoramic views of the stunning natural landscape. It’s a must-visit for anyone traveling to Sapa. The combination of the height, the clear glass floor, and the surrounding fog creates an atmosphere that is both awe-inspiring and slightly nerve-wracking. Overall, it was definitely worth it, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience in Vietnam.
One of the most memorable moments for me was watching the sunset over Ha Long Bay from the second deck after each day's adventure. The cool breeze and light snacks made it the perfect experience 🌇 My phone is now full of stunning photos, and if I had more time, I wouldn't hesitate to choose a longer trip to sleep on the cruise for a few nights and soak in the serene beauty of the bay 🤩 Big thanks to Mr. Billy and Asia Mystika for organizing such an unforgettable trip!
