1. Visa and Travel Permission:

You will need to fill in an application form for visa and travel permission

Cambodia is a popular destination for travelers who want to experience the rich culture, history, and nature of Southeast Asia. However, before visiting this beautiful country, you need to know about the visa and travel permission requirements that apply to you.

You can apply for either visa online through the official government website (https://www.evisa.gov.kh/) or at a Cambodian embassy or consulate in your country. You will need to fill in an application form, upload a passport photo, and pay securely using your credit card or other payment methods. You will receive an e-visa certificate by email within 3 business days, which you need to print out and show at the immigration checkpoint when you arrive in Cambodia.

Alternatively, you can also get a visa on arrival at any of the international airports or land border crossings in Cambodia. You will need to fill in an application form, provide a passport photo, and pay in cash (USD or local currency). However, this option may take longer and be subject to availability, so it is recommended to apply online in advance if possible.

Some nationalities are exempt from visa requirements and can enter Cambodia without a visa for up to 30 days. These include citizens of ASEAN countries (such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia), Japan, South Korea, and some other Asian countries. However, you still need to have a valid passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity and a blank page for the entry stamp.

2. E-Visa:

The applicant needs to fill out an online form for E-Visa

Cambodia E-Visa is an electronic visa that allows travelers to enter Cambodia for tourism purposes. It is a convenient and fast way to obtain a visa without visiting an embassy or consulate. The E-Visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue and allows a single entry of up to 30 days. The E-Visa can be applied online through the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia.

The applicant needs to fill out an online form, provide the following information:

  • Personal details: Full name, telephone number, email, date of birth, passport number, passport date of issue, passport expiry date, country of passport, birth country, nationality
  • Travel Information: Address during visit, date of entry, port of entry, hotel reservation documents
  • Digital Photos: Passport and application photo.
  • Visa fee: A processing fee vary by the visa type you are applying.

Once you have completed the online application form and paid the processing fee, the E-Visa will be sent to the applicant's email address within 3 business days. The applicant needs to print out the E-Visa and present it along with the passport at the immigration checkpoint upon arrival in Cambodia.

The E-Visa is accepted at all international airports and some land border crossings in Cambodia. The E-Visa can be extended once for another 30 days at the Immigration Department in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap. The E-Visa is not valid for travelers who hold diplomatic or official passports, or who intend to work, study, or reside in Cambodia.

3. Visa On Arrival:

A visa on arrival - apply and receive when you enter Cambodia

Cambodia is a popular destination for travelers who want to experience the rich culture, history and natural beauty of Southeast Asia. One of the advantages of visiting Cambodia is that you can obtain a visa on arrival at most international airports and land border crossings. A visa on arrival is a type of visa that you can apply for and receive when you enter Cambodia, without having to visit an embassy or consulate beforehand.

A visa on arrival is valid for 30 days and can be extended once for another 30 days at the immigration office in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap. The visa fee is 30 USD for most nationalities, and you will need to provide one passport-sized photo and fill out an application form. You can also pay an extra 5 USD for an e-visa, which is an electronic visa that you can apply for online and print out before your arrival. An e-visa can save you time and hassle at the immigration checkpoint, as you will not have to queue or fill out any forms.

There are some exceptions to the visa on arrival policy. Some nationalities, such as Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Sudan, are not eligible for a visa on arrival or an e-visa and must obtain a visa in advance from a Cambodian embassy or consulate. Additionally, some border crossings may not issue visas on arrival or accept e-visas, so it is advisable to check the latest information before your trip.

A visa on arrival is a convenient and easy way to enter Cambodia and enjoy its many attractions. However, you should also be aware of the visa requirements and regulations to avoid any problems or delays during your travel. For more information, you can visit the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia or contact your nearest Cambodian embassy or consulate.

4. Visa Exemption:

Certain passport holders can enter Cambodia without a visa

Cambodia visa exemption is a policy that allows certain passport holders to enter Cambodia without a visa for a limited period of time. The visa exemption applies to the following countries:

- Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos and Vietnam: single entry and maximum of 30 days
- Thailand, Myanmar, Brunei and Seychelles: single entry and maximum of 14 days

The visa exemption is based on reciprocal agreements between Cambodia and these countries. To benefit from the visa exemption, travelers must have a passport that is valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Cambodia, and a return or onward ticket. They must also have at least one empty page in their passport for the immigration stamp.

Travelers who are eligible for the visa exemption do not need to apply for an e-visa or a visa on arrival. They can simply present their passport at the immigration checkpoint and receive a stamp that indicates their permitted duration of stay. However, they should be aware that the visa exemption cannot be extended or renewed. If they wish to stay longer than the allowed period, they must apply for a regular tourist or business visa from a Cambodian embassy or consulate abroad before their arrival.

The visa exemption policy is subject to change by the Cambodian authorities. Therefore, travelers are advised to check the latest information on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation website or contact the nearest Cambodian embassy or consulate before their departure.
