The language barrier was less of an issue than I anticipated on my trip through Saigon, Siem Reap, Hoi An, Da Nang, Hue, Ninh Binh, Ha Long, and Hanoi. While learning a few basic phrases is always appreciated, I found that Arthur and the local guides he connected us with were fantastic communicators. Arthur himself speaks excellent English and was brilliant at translating not just words, but cultural nuances, making interactions with locals richer and more meaningful. He even helped me haggle respectfully at a market in Hoi An!
